somewhere between dawn again
and a yesterday
that worked overtime
graveyard perhaps

the denny's lady knows
the difference
with her customers she says
the ones that fit in

and the ones that are lost
in time, runaways she says
from some secret place
they had hidden their dreams

and woke up in the middle
of the night to find
nightmares with swollen wombs
just moments away from twins

she offers more coffee to my eyes
and says I could be a regular guy
with another visit or two
and do I like the color of her nails

some shade of midwife burgandy

mmmmmm babe, now my fav' out of broadway was "hair"...took a charter buss from the "baldheaded gods" club to see it and we were front row and center...I was wearing a skull cap to fit in...some of the actors forgot their lyrics and just burst out laughing at us...

I always enjoy your commentary..is a spoon full of goodness each time
