Like the wisp of a breeze felt but unseen
my fingers to body trace outlines of need
as a magical trance induced by desire
sets me on course to experience you.

No reality view but a feeling in me
rises up from the depths of loving you
and chain it I would if you tell me how
to breathe my own air one breath at a time.

Tell my why love unglues and sets free
what’s meant to remain confined within me
for disjointed I am, separated, and lost
in a maze of how to live without you.

Knock, knock, on my door – could it be you?
No, it’s the dawn waking me from a dream
and the days pass by without me it seems
until I’m again back into a dream.

I particularly liked these lines:

I don't think love can be chained...it has the ability to be, even as we sleep or fill our lives with other things. Be glad that you love...some people can't.

Thank you all for the read and for your comments. Yes, James, I understand that action chases dreams away so it appears I am forever doomed to dream and, no, Martie sometimes to love isn't a good thing - not in the here and now at any rate.
