Pictures reeling from Noels past,
They surround me in pink loving glow.
Soothing and fine as sweet mulled wine,
And as soft as a new fallen snow.

While gazing into the fireplace,
~ With its mantle all trimmed with bows,
Flames flicker on window panes,
And dance from my head to my toes.

Curled upon this window seat,
Where he once pledged undying love,
I recall those times of tenderness
When I was his turtle dove.

But life goes on, and so must we,
Tho' cold winds have dimmed the fire.
I smile at sweet remembrances,
When our flames burned with desire.

Only the warmest of memories,
Do I hold to the heart of me.
Releasing the ones less pleasant,
Into a bottomless sea.

Laughter and love and joyfulness,
Are held in the seat of my soul.
Memories of all our loving,
Sustain me and keep me whole.
