Fried Green Tomatoes I could hear her as sure as Wednesday’s laugh Her voice horse with the first cold of season As I scowled at the tomato from Vons so wrapped That I couldn’t see the skin of it less sap Her vine lay there beside her skirt Snaking up the garden’s trellis less spurt Every one was green yet full and round She asked how do fried green tomatoes sound To the hungry who I heard off in the yard Bellowing ages young and hard And just now beneath my own vine I saw Reflection of time for strength to draw And like before in a desert of travel She wasn’t so different from me at all. ---------- within a memory of recall we aren't so different at all! /pip/Forum44/HTML/001031.html |

Oh Martie, both of these reached in deep, and grabbed some incredible memories. Thank you for sharing these pieces of heart. |

I think I just understood your secret....to write as beautifully as Martie, all you have to do is live poetry, and tell about it. ...but somehow I suspect it isn't quite as simple as that.... ~~(¸¸¸¸ºº> ~~(¸¸¸¸ºº> ~~(¸¸ ¸¸ºº> ~~~(¸¸ER¸¸ºº> |

And just now beneath my own vine I saw Reflection of time for strength to draw That's a crop anyone would envy. *S* This reminds me of one of my mother's wartime stories... thank you for those thoughts. *S* |
