I never heard her ticking, though at times I tried to catch the movement of her hands as I honored her, her tides and neap, reasoning with every phase of wax and wane she touched me deep proddingly she wept and wove and looped a thread genteel. I never counted steps impressed muddied on the damp of shore and yet I cried regressed regret as tide erased in foam lace wave the path I'd walked before the whore had tightened loop to knot. Sometimes the ticking ticking tock rides me unrelenting clocks swaggering the pendulum but still I honor her--defer better now, with decorum, she touches with a silent hand, and silver paint adorns my hair, as creases (oh parentheses) line my mouth amused by ease of this as so much smile - I am a celebration too. |
