When I'm upset, feeling sorry for myself, not to mention feeling the pain of those trudging through sand storms and mud, dodging missiles and bullets... I listen to some upbeat guitar music, some Strange Beautiful Music captured within exotic lively escapades played by master Joe Satriani, or to Jimi, Eric C, Kitaro, or any others who can move me and I light some incense, eat a pizza washed down with a beer, shake and rock my booties all over this apartment floor, with feet in stomping beat (sorry, dear neighbors) while I try to remember why I used to build fantasy sand castles at the Rincon, or next to Santa Monica Pier listening to the crashing waves and screaming gulls while watching tanned slim surfer boys with sun-bleached hair cresting the waves, hanging ten in the warm sun, flirting with all of us young maidens in our too-tiny-bikinis. And suddenly I remember LIFE. It is still out there. |

I enjoyed the message of the poem. I also loved the imagery of the sand on the beach and surfers catching a few waves. It seemed like i was standing there with you as Eric Clapton and Jimi Hendrix played a duet with their searing gutiars. Great write. -John nice use of muffin |
