With you It's like eating fresh strawberries Outside in warm summer rain, Sheltered by cedar limbs. I look into the deep brown shadows Of your eyes Where I find myself, For a moment I can't breathe. I am not uncomfortable, Nor terrified. It felt rather like slipping Under an electric blanket, On a feather mattress After having slept a lifetime On concrete. I am reminded of green grass, And dry spots under trees during rainstorms, Here we are fools eating strawberries Juice dripping down our chins. |

"I am reminded of green grass, And dry spots under trees during rainstorms, Here we are fools eating strawberries Juice dripping down our chins." Oh Amanda...what wonderful images this conjures up! Especially love the above stanza. Hugs~Nancy ~Autumn..the year's last, loveliest smile.~ |

8-) Love it! I could picture this poem in my head. It made me smile. Thanks! Remember, if you're not part of the future, you're history! |
