Hunger Hastens Esurient Lips

We are rainbows in the dark—
vermilion stained cheeks,
ivory souls’...
raven-pooled eyes.
Cerise lips,
which pang for the others' velvety kiss.

Into evensongs' hours,
incorrigible need weds us one to the other.
Its' piercing cinches our affections,
thickens blood,
'til a torrent of want are we.

Midst chiffon bolsters and crepe de chine linens,
ephemeral moans measure times’ passing.
Exquisite hunger hastens esurient lips,

(parted and moist)

until in the moment of oneness,
we fall upon the precipices of Olympus,
tremulous hearts beating in beautified cadence.

Remember, if you're not part of the future, you're history!

EV2,
  Breath-takingly beautiful!  Especially liked:

"We are rainbows in the dark—
vermilion stained cheeks,
ivory souls’...
raven-pooled eyes.
Cerise lips,
which pang for the others' velvety kiss.

Into evensongs' hours,
incorrigible need weds us one to the other.
Its' piercing cinches our affections,
thickens blood,
'til a torrent of want are we. "

I love the lilt that the last line has in the second stanza!  Your whole poem is delicious, but these are my favorite.

one thing, though - I tried to look up Esurient - couldn't find it - it is lacking from my vocabulary - define please

Thank-you everyone for the comments. They are very much appreciated.

Susan - Esurient means faminshed, hungry, ravenous, voracious...etc. Hope that helps. Your buddy - Kevin
