Wind swept thoughts
Failed the sigh
Rested colors
Sang a lullaby
Trials arrested the night
Eyes beheld a blighted sight
Skin crawled and screamed in fright
We talked and tried to beckon the light
But the night claimed us

We reached for life
It ran away
What were we seeking
So late and far away
So long and ever strong
Were the lies that beat us down
So heavy was the frown
Of the defeated clown
So many had to drown
Hopelessness did abound
Now we run but do not hide
We've turned the tide
The smile is there
It is on our side
