wrinkled bedsheets,
coverlet tossed to the floor...
candles leaning,
burned sideways in their holders...

the smell of sweat
and incense hangs
in my nostrils

a t-shirt lies at the foot of the bed

its too big to be mine...

sounds from the bathroom,
shower running,
someone stifles
a laugh

suddenly...
i decide that
surprising you for lunch
wasn't such a good idea...

Gee, maybe a phone call first would have been best.
Excellent write with a POW ending.

Ouch....definately packs the punch...
not to mention stirrs some old memories of sorts....but luckily enough, those moments have passed.
HUGS to you.

The fervent disbelief of such a moment is embedded completely in the folds of strong resolve.
Very well done.

If your path was set to take you through this moment, then the hard won reasons enrich your way.
