footsteps slow
normality’s pretense,
hard coming

standstill takes
control; alarm fosters
trepidation

fed by the lack of
divination, apprehension worries
life into fears that taunt
faith’s forbearance

tomorrow’s betrayal
waves gaudily as
today jackets itself
with guilt

survival begs
the loosening of
this encumbrance

one day at a time
is overfilled and
leaking

too many untold sorrows
to undertake the
weeping

beneath the weight
knees slip to
the floor

comfort is gifted
the burden
taken

not knowing becomes
a haven

in Him
Trust steps forward
as if normally
proceeding

Sometimes the weight is enough to drive us to our knees. Isn't it wonderful that the burden can be lifted. Enjoyed this a great deal.
