Emergency Response Heavy wheels and brakes crowd the neighborhood, swoop like wraiths from all directions and -- they’re taking Sophie away Two cars of cops and three firemen with a significant plastic case dance anxious at the entry gate trying to get past while the ambulance noses in looking for a way around red fenders and the blue cop lights They’re looking worried now, trying windows, motioning back to the fire truck to bring something Lady cop in fatigues calls through the window crack, her hand finds its way to her forehead, straightens pulled back hair as she trots to the gate, waves hello as Sophie in her ever present curlers opens the door with a quizzical smile Fireman at the side gate turns with a grin and suddenly the ambulance boys and cops break into a game of kick-the-can right there in the driveway [This message has been edited by Ratleader (07-14-2004 12:03 AM).] |

Wheew! What a build up! I was worried about Sophie, and about you. I hope the ending is really how it was! |

Yes -- a graphic description of exactly what they did....the relief on those guys' faces was a thing of beauty! It happened about half an hour ago. ~~(¸¸¸¸ºº> ~~(¸¸¸¸ºº> ~~(¸¸ ¸¸ºº> ~~~(¸¸ER¸¸ºº> |

Love this. I was right there with you! And I love happy endings. Thanks for the fun and for sharing. Susan Happiness isn't something that happens to you, it's created from within you. Joy is a state of mind. |

Goodness, I'm glad Sophie was okay!!! I hated to go on reading, but couldn't help myself. I sighed a sigh of relief at the end, that she was okay!! Good writing, Ed. Hugs, Ethel |
