These times are changing,
Quickly rearranging, or so it’s said;
The days are whirling
Events quick swirling, years finely shred.
What was, is and can be
Blending grays to me inside my head.
Will a day matter
Make me gladder
Or maybe sadder,
When it’s gone will it be gone once more
Back to the way it was before?
When we truly see,
Can it be?
These times are changing,
There is no arguing with the rearranging
For the past is gone to memory
Which through time’s mist we see,
The good and bad,
Happy and said, in a different light,
Which is neither wrong or right,
Blending in the grays of my head.

Gloom

Ah, Sir...I know the varied
shades of gray...
I shall ponder with you
as we sit with tea...

Professor,

     "Will a day matter
     Make me gladder
     Or maybe sadder,
When it’s gone will it be gone once more
Back to the way it was before?
     When we truly see,
     Can it be?"

   (My "hunch" is gladder.)

"Back to the way it was before?"   I've heard things only improve with time!  It must be true or that old adage wouldn't still exist!

One of my favorites to place on the shelves...
