Fond Memories

Have you looked in your treasure chest of the mind?
Fond memories wrapped in pearls of the past
and
packages of sheer fantasy.
Do we forget the simple pleasures of life,
memories that are likened to fleeting snapshots
that are frozen in time?
These memories brought into view with just a thought
or
giving you the feeling of deja vu.
One of the first memories that comes to mind was when I
was a child.
We lived in the city, with a drug store on the corner,
and
in this drug store a counter that was called a soda fountain.
They prepared meals and on display many delicious
delights.
My friend and I would go flying to the drug store laughing,
jumping
and
running with glee because they would give us a free glass
of water
Sitting behind the front door at the drug store,
reading comic books, people walking by with a smile on
their face.
Simple pleasures but remembered for a lifetime.
Your first kiss from the boy who stole your heart, then ran
away to kiss another the following week.
Take a moment in your busy life, sit, have a cup of tea
and
enjoy the snapshots stored within your chest
of
life's memories.

Love and Hugs
