Dressed in casual slacks
unassumingly at a cafe, coffee is sipped
comfortably seated, legs folded informally
the way to be on a Sunday morning
the odor of freshly baked croissant
aah you say, no time card to punch here

Time card, why would I think that
dressed so casually with a favorite crossword
the art section opened to the lifestyles
catch up on culture in a week of tumult.
But I will never really catch up
just satisfy the urge for respite
breathe in the flavours of leisure
still attached to backdrops of brief repose
interrupted by the advent of work days
no don't like the day job...
tired I have to pretend I do...
are there as many who'd love to sue?
for the loss of individual space
that comes with the cubicle maze
of the dreaded work week...
could be worse, a bottle wash job
like in Dicken's days.

casual slacks rise on restful days
unassumingly move from the cafe
to a park with favorite book in hand
maybe a sketch book, or note pad
the way to be every day, one day..
aah, you say I have my head in the clouds
wonder whether your work makes you equally proud.

Excellent write Martin,
with plenty to ponder here.
