Dreaming Of

....and
you’re there in the dark
                      again
soft as a spirit whisper,
          waiting.
I’ve seen you, felt you
      just...         there,
pretended you were dream,
        a dream
I’d carried into waking...

....but
I feel you, feel you here
   no dream         surrounds
no dream carries the
                   presence
I see you like the remnant
         lingering
of a light too bright for eyes

....as
I nearly sense your breath
    touching          slight...
light along my skin, find a
     warmth        like
living perfume, imagined
         yet surrounding,
I know that soon, soon
      I’ll see        you
                again

"like
living perfume, imagined
         yet surrounding"

I especially enjoyed this line.

What romantic breath blew against my face as I read this.
Powerful images.

The shape of this poem, like wisps of smoke, lead me into the feel of the images.

Just when I think you've written romance as well as it can possibly be written... I open another poem of yours and find you've kicked it up another notch. *S*
The softness and tenderness of this lends a dreamy quality to the day even as it defines yearn... It just doesn't get better... or more beautiful!!!
