Blowing up the TV |

There is nothing wrong with your camera or TV. Just a momentary glitch in the system. Don’t change the station or attempt to re-set the parameters. You are not in charge, anyway. Still, I keep trying to adjust the colors of the day, the grisly unbelievable scenes I see before me. Guess it’s hard work, to accept this reality. I am not in charge of my world, and every newspaper and TV screen remind me of this each and every day. However, I could just blow up the TV, as John Denver once suggested. |

Mmm, or get satellite and record only what you want to see, then listen to NPR to get a better perspective of the world, both the good and the bad. Enjoyed this - Susan Happiness isn't something that happens to you, it's created from within you. Joy is a state of mind. |

good poem, but it may be faulty reasoning cuz not seeing what's going on in the world won't stop it...then again, perhaps not "glamourizing it" would. And unfortunately, today, infamy and notoriety seem to give glamour, as well, in the minds of some. Whether on the shoal or on the shore, |

Feel this way everytime I watch the biased news programs or the stupid shows they call entertainment...perhaps as you mature you outgrow foolish things...James |

Kacy I know that song, it's a great one.. Good job on the poem, hummed the lyrics along as I read it...a fitting parallel.. "Blow up your T.V. throw away your paper Go to the country, build you a home Plant a little garden, eat a lot of peaches Try an find Jesus on your own " (Lyrics by John Prine.."Spanish Pipedream or Blow up your TV) Didn't know John Denver recorded it, will have to download his version.... Come read to me some poem, Some simple and heartfelt lay, That shall soothe this restless feeling And banish the thoughts of day. Longfellow |

I hadn't heard Prine sing it LOL, I saw Prine 'live' when I lived in Tallahassee, John Denver was already 'gone' by the time I moved to Denver. thanks to all for reading, I'm trying to 'digest' the debate...I only saw 10 minutes of it tonight No, I didn't blow up my TV, was out on a job call. |

kacy.... yes...it is easy to be cynical and say "just turn it off then" but there is a need to have faith in humans it is real hard though....seeing us on there the way we act... what i have been doing lately is going outside... and enjoying The Others and somehow... they make it easier for me to get through another HumanDay |

Thank you Brian, for that reply. I agree, go outside, talk to your neighbors, talk to the mailman, talk...to the people across the seas, ones who watch us from a distance, get a feel for what the rest of the planet is seeing/thinking/believing/doing. |

since I've spent more time with horses and hay than people lately, I'd say you made a great choice of how you spend your moments |
