POTLUCK POLITICS

you send out invitations
rosy privatizations
you hope for a mix
to get outta dis fix

a chicken in ev’ry pot?
sometimes cold, sometimes hot
hoping for a stew
nourishing me and you

getting salads with greens
or pies with whippin’ cream
maybe some milk
or choc’lit French silk

lookin’ hard for some meat
to keep us on our feet
or gettin’ rid of dis dizzy
wond’rin’ is he not or is he?

are the promises true
will he keep to them like glue
or will the cupboard at hand
make it hard for him to stand

for the word that he gave
to protect and to save
serve and preserve
with ev’ry muscle, ev’ry nerve

a dictator he can’t be
a common tater, we will see
is the size of all of US
too much bigger than Texas

will we turn the other cheek
another voice and word to seek
will same sexes marry
if we elect Edwards and Kerry?

what will be the final feast
if a potluck from the east
or barbecue from the south
from encumbant’s word of mouth?
