There were times when I hated you
And, God forgive me, times I would have
killed to hold you in my arms one
more time.
Even now I wake up reaching for you...
...only you aren't there.
And I will never again read the words
your wondrous thoughts imagined.
I'll never again feel the ocean kiss
my skin or see that clear blue autumn
sky that you aren't first in my mind.
Never again to feel the anticipation
of the dreams you created in your poetry.
And, oh, how I hate you for leaving
me like this...
alone-bereft-shelterless.
Just one more glimpse of you
one more smile
one more taunting phrase to tease my mind.
I can see you, feel you, in the drift
of a cloud
in the winds cool caress
in rain drenched roses
And I know if I am just quick enough
I can turn around and catch you...
...watching me.
But I never do.
How I hate you, but, oh God, please
Just one more look.

In loving memory of Wilfred Yeats, poet, friend

Paula,  you have said for all of us the
thoughts that we all feel.  Done very well.
A most noble thing.

Paula~
Uh huh ... and how I treasure, not only, his poetry, but the many emails we exchanged~

He could turn a phrase that would capture my heart ... and leave me wanting more~
How musically in tune he was with the ways of the world and women~

Thank you for this touching remembrance that will send me, once again, to the Archives in search of our beloved poet~

*Huglets* to you dear lady~

I can't even count the times I think...I need to tell Bill this...and then remember that he isn't here anymore. I know he isn't the only poet we have lost and I just felt the need to say something...thanks to you all and to anyone who didn't know him please do check the archives. He will always be an exceptional poet.

I am glad I caught this one.  I too miss him as I am sure all those that knew him in here do.  His writing and his comments were treats for the day always.  He and I used to pass around a crown and I am happy to say that he now and will forever have that crown with him.  Wonderful tribute to him and to also the others we have lost.  I KNOW he IS watching a smiling now.
