My Shoes

My shoes are made of hide of pride
The soles are but humility
I live within a tough abide
And test my shoes ability.

The sands of time have worn away
And scuffed the hide of pride but
My soles have lasted to this day
The hard of tide and rough provide

I also have a staff of aid
To fit my hand where e’er I go
It helps me balance weary grades
To see me through a day of woe

Between the two I am well fit
To meet the glean of scenery
That, along with common wit
I walk the green of greenery

And stars that are my canopy
Is also my calliope?

well, there you are, you stinker!  I missed you and was afraid those smiling eyes and start for the day might not share his soul of wisdom....shame on you for hiding...shame, shame, shame....

Morning, hope your wide awake and ready for the day....
thank you always for your oh so tender look at life

Seymour~

'That, along with common wit

Well, don't you just KNOW I'm chuckling ...
I'm sure you're much too kind to call Balladeer a 'nit wit' as you stroll the golf course greens !!

Okay ... so I loved it and had to 'play' with the scene it painted on second read~
LOL ... you get 'em tiger~

A belated hello and good morning, Sy.  While I was on vacation, there were times my internet did not let me play...but there I was in C-A gold, and thoughts of you did weigh...

so I spent some time with Martie, dear, a poet of your delight; she allowed me play, and then to stay throughout a day and night...

I watched as Martie, with her charm, a peacock fed and she disarmed any fear he might have had to fly; he was such a handsome guy!

So hurry back to Passions, dear, that I might share with you some cheer, and photos, too, will be here forthwith, to serve you up a poet's dish!

It would be an honour to walk a mile in your venerable shoes!

Loves 'n hugs,
