No moon tonight Empty shadowy streets a challenge to my jangling nerves, distant footsteps almost a comfort, giving life to my barren world. Fear drives me as I hasten my steps, brought to a halt as the screech of an owl freezes my thumping heart. Footsteps nearer lending vigour to my flight, reapers kiss a deadly caress. I almost reach home. |

You know why I liked this? I can so relate. I did a lot of walking in the wee hours when I was in the Navy...sometimes I got so scared I ran! Sometimes I just carried a very big knife.. ![]() "cast me gently into the morning, for the night has been unkind" |

It sounds very frightening Susan, at least this is just fiction. Thanks for reading. Maggie |
