September here,
Glitters in a purple haze, plumped up in shear
Gathering the vapors of a cooling trend
Hiccups play the rain in tears portend

That leaves me changed
A scarlet tone on cheek estranged
Revisits, peeks inquisitive and smug
Suede boots to mark my footprints tap and chug

These ancient songs that call
Among the hundred year old wisdom tall
Surrounded by the spirits of my birth
Dancing in the retrograde of Libra’s mirth

Or stunned beneath the bend of aspen gold
To lay upon the earth, and count the quakes so bold
And smile, for there becomes a reason in denial
And nothing could put damp the spirit or the style

October wise,
A little louder in the chowder pot of prize
Blushing red embarrassed right before my eyes
November skirts in whistled flash, the trees so brash
And scarlet tinder tempts the winter, leaving knot the sash

you do justice to the splendor of the season, making it all so seductive in its

"Hiccups play the rain in tears portend"
***********************

Familiar with this as rainy days and nights seem to be on this months call sheet.
***********************

"These ancient songs that call
Among the hundred year old wisdom tall"
***********************

That line left me with an image I can really relate to ......
Now tier the lyrics and flash fold the memory between the mighty din and the song be heard in tunes of muse between meadow and forest.
***********************

"A little louder in the chowder pot of prize
Blushing red embarrassed right before my eyes
November skirts in whistled flash, the trees so brash
And scarlet tinder tempts the winter, leaving knot the sash"
***********************

and of course the final verse sends it home in style. Very much enjoyed the read and the enlightment of this piece as the well that holds this ink is much deeper than first seen on the surface of page.

Kathy,
This line works like a magnet. Love the colors!
