morning brings you flowers
in thought vases
and your lady skin
says she is anxious

you contimplate the dawning
and then draw circles
on imaginary windows
you write poems there

in the vapor of your breath
and taste the ends
of your finger pens
to see how sighs sound

I watch you circle your wrist
with your fingers
and press them firmly
taking the pulse of imagination

then you smile and shiver
