Light lays on the floor
her arms stretched out on carpet
begging me to look

Love it Martie

Thank you for your replies, especially the poetic ones.

I couldn't sleep last night because the moon was so bright coming into the room from the French door.  And it's light lay the night life of the patio across the carpet....the shadows of the plants and trees all there for me to see.  So, I started to write this poem in my head about it...(not anything like this one really, but similar) and so I had a night without sleep (note play on words) because of the light of the moon.

If we sleep all night
we miss some of the magic
shared by the moon light

Thank you dear Martie, for such a beautiful verse!

I looked for the picture to accompany this ... then realized it was a Word-Kodak of your poetic mind~

So simple, yet such a vivid picture painted.

With my arm for a pillow
my eyes will not open
I'd rather bask in the sun

But I'd never be horizontal that late!

If tears could build a stairway and memories a lane, I'd walk right up to heaven and bring you home again.

swaying seductively,
gypsy sway, join me

loved this Martie!

Very well done Martie. You captured the moment here very well. Your right the light does want you to look at it. I felt it many times. Great job!

I let this one pass me by.....time to fix that! I'm a true fan of your longer work, but the short ones aren't less in any way but the number of lines.
