TWO STONE CASTLES
stand on the shore,
beside their child's
with crumbling doors.

TWO feel the waves
but fear them not,
unlike their child's
by curlings crushed.

TWO hoist their flags
for all to see,
their child's now bobs
upon the sea.

TWO shine their shields
in dew cleared skies,
their child rebuilds
at ebbing tides.

The true poet writes to express, not impress.
