giving up

.
time and again i hear it

you are a strong person

amd i think back to everything past

and  an almost smirk rises in me

.
how little anyone really knows me

how many times the ease was almost there

to give up

to give up  the fight to survive

not caring

for the emptiness is there

still there

and  cannot be filled

either

by myself ( and all the advice

that says first you must be happy within ...before)

.
who made up that statement ?

must have been someone who has never truly  known

the loneliness felt

from abandonment

from untimely death

from expectation...

.
today i give up

because...

the wait is too long
.

No, Maureen, we never give up, we just become wiser and, of course, accepting.  Acceptance has such a calming influence - it takes us from victim to victor.  I wish that for you.

Our greatest glory is not in never failing, but in rising up every time we fail.

I have felt this way many days and the one thing I have found to be truth is the sun does come back out sooner or later and always, always....I get back up.
May you feel stronger soon M.

we are strong women, who have felt everything you've described, and we've at times depending on personal burdens, wanted to give up, but we didn't.  Why? B/c there is that spiritual adrenelin of power which is the desire to survive...even if against our own will (self-pity) but it is most definately there, and never leaves our side...until eventually we take that first step, then the next, and the next after that...

What you have described here are feelings we have all felt, just depends on how long we allow those feelings to control.
Very good write

This is a heartbreaking poem and I truly hope you will reach out to us. We love you and hope you don't 'give up.'

I don't know you personally, only from your writings but I consider you a friend. Please know I am here if you want someone to chat with.

Hugs and luvs, Marti

Very sad write, dear Maureen .... touching my heart deeply. I agree that no one could honestly say, that such feelings haven't touched them. But there is Love that guides us out of the black tunnel, always.
This life is full of pain and there are moments when we feel overwhelmed, but please trust that you are never alone.
Reaching out with a big hug.
Love, Margherita
