This Poet Called Me

If you want a glimpse into my soul,
read the words that I write.
See what's going on inside of my head,
through every day and each night.

When you have finished reading my words,
tell me- what is it that you see?
Do you see the meaning behind the words
of the poet that lies within me?

Have you seen inside of my heart,
shared my struggles, and fears?
Have you silently wept with me
as my words have shown you my tears?

If you have ever read my words
Did I make you see?
Did you see the person who I am-
this poet that I call me?

{revised repost}

It's better than I could have planned..
it's made me who I am...

my aunt always told me, poetry is the window to the soul and yours dear heart is one which is compassionate and curious, giving and passionately drawn to go beyond the reasons why.  Yours is a heart of gold, never wearing a watch, or perhaps I should say, not wanting to.

How'd I do?

Very much enjoyed...

Oh yes.  We do put so much of ourselves into our words.  That is half the joy of reading poetry, to glean some insight into another soul.  Well said.

When I read, I see.  When I write, I see, too.  Enjoyed this, Donna.

Donna,  I agree with the ladies, inside
and out is a beautiful poet and woman.
Who writes of her beauty through the
words that we read.
