Everything has a consequence
comes after your donation
what will the next day bring
something new on wing?
someone writes out of the blue
asks for a favour
without any admission of who he is
you could have asked
but gentility, lack of discretion
prevented that
you assist in council
the advice is cheap
and you get a reply
rich in thank yous.

To apply what one predicates,
as you ask for assistance
why not expect to be asked in turn
although you may not answer,
Everyone has a right to information.
not everyone is eqipped with finesse
to ask in ways we would like.
Advice is cheap
but it must be right
what of emails from the end zone
solicitations from an unexpected source
like phone calls from the unknown.
Do I have to know a whole life story
from a stranger, to assist?
Not as long as that person
does not expect
an answer on all occasions;
and we are our own best judge
of how to be used...

The point is missed, or I missed the point.

Yes a good write but it moved between the shallow and the substance;  it moved between a meaning and an end;  it was well written but like an old friend;  it assumed you knew the start, meaning and the end.

Sorry if this sounds abrupt, but you hovered and if I am wrong, I'll be the first to admit it.

Dave
