Blackie came out today
Minus feathers
But his tail
Seems to be there for the flight
Just his head is bald tonight
Now old
Been here years
Saw him black
All those years
As devils night
Sings his song
Never has he said
So long

Brings his daughters here to see
Shows them round my greenhouse
Free
Maybe nature should take it's course
And Blackie be just another mound
But this winter catsnacks find
A bird who feels the world behind
And as the compost bins surround

A little piece of some haven
For Blackie
Who thinks
He is a Raven

Funny how birds come back to the place of their birth to have their own...you'd think anywhere would do...

and it doesn't.

Good job here Dave.  Enjoyed.  Thank you!

animals are awesome, and you have described here, the very essense of nature and some of it's ways...is it any wonder we were told to watch and learn from the beasts of the fields?  Lovely write

Loved the flow through this one Dave.

Enjoyed immensely.

Smiling at this one, Dave.
I've been a long time blackbird and a raven watcher. Amazing creatures, all of them.
