I remember you walking,
But lost is your voice talking,
So is the fade of memories.
I know where was the place
And lovely eyes in pretty face,
All the beauty of you to see,
But what can no longer be found
Is the taste, the smell or the sound.
I am haunted by silent laughter
Which no longer comes after
Lip slip into a bit of a smile.
And even though I know the way
I can not travel there today
Over many a thought and many a mile.

It could just be a faulty breaker.

But I tease..this has the tone of a man who walks brick streets, and there is a poem in THAT too...

Sad, yes, but always nice.

"I am haunted by silent laughter
Which no longer comes after"

Me too.

Indeed....sometimes the laughter can be haunting, but beautiful. Well done Proff.

whatever was, folds and waits unto another wear, perhaps a little more complimented from the fabric softner of some greatness
bigger then all of us...I don't believe people are mean...they just do the best they know...

I knew a young man once, who was a friend of my sons...he always laughed at the saddest of losses and painful stories...it used to annoy me...but it was a nervous laugh, his insignia and response...he didn't mean to be mean...he was just a boy, dealing with life, the best way he knew how...with a nervous chuckle and sometimes laugh?  And there I was, annoyed with him...live and learn I suppose.

Your poem reminded me of him...
Thank you for reminding me about awareness of the feelings of others....

That particular plot will always be there
for you to visit, whether it's later...
or later still...

You've made me want to shuck work today,
and travel memories.

That's a good sign my muse is hanging around.

Thank you, Professor!

Congratulations on 2,500 posts (Well, actually 2,501, but I am known to run a little late, never on time, so I've been told by family and friends).  I agree with Sy.  It is one of your better poems, although they all are great and greatly enjoyed.  I like the sensitivity in this.  Your work always paints a picture, but many times it is like you're standing back in observation.  This piece includes the artist.
