Would it be that I could see Into the soul of distant tree, Within her trunk a universe, Where mortal man fails to traverse Coursing sap as lifeblood flows, To tender bud as new life grows, While all the while each outstretched limb, With whorling leaf and fragile stem Protects her from disharmony, Sheltered safe by canopy, Each scar upon her weathered boughs, Upon her soul in pain endows, A hardened knot to tame the sun, And wind and rain, to winters shun, Fearing not of axe’s thrust, Dreading not of dust to dust, In the distance grows the tree, No mortal man to ever see, of her soul, what lies within, The very seed of life's begin. Like it. Like visiting the Redwoods. Ah, what stories they could tell. Susan Happiness isn't something that happens to you, it's created from within you. Joy is a state of mind. |
