'Twas said in lore, of dust and gore,
Betwixt their gods and devil,
Souls were lost in endless night,
As demons cavort and revel.

A ceaseless thirst to sate the flesh,
~ Naught quenched in boundless fire.
Souls had fallen from states of Grace,
In to consuming mire.

No air to breathe ~ no Light of God,
~ A place of malcontents.
Restless beings torn and scourged,
While lost in their laments.

Shivers here - shooing the demons away.  No temptations for me.

Bit of trivia here - did you know that it was once thought that a bit of your soul left your body when you sneezed, and thus people said "bless you" to keep it from being stolen?  Generalization here, but you get the picture.

It is often perceived that the closer one is to something, the better one sees it. But I have actually found the converse to be often true. The higher one flies ~ the better the view of that which lies below! lol
