I Love September Golden leaves and an orange school bus I’ll always remember the blue of your eyes in the sky above us I love September I love September and I loved you all through those dwindling days and nights this love’s ember glowing in the dark or in the light warm, your lips chilling, the wind I love September I love you Maroon, my scarf hanging down walking with her glorious gold crumbling to brown I love September I love to remember the scent of holding you near the leaves in your auburn hair the people scattered gentlemen with their ladies fair sweet, the time heavenly, you were mine I love September and I love you The faintest gray on the sky this last time with you trees and I release a sigh this last warm embrace with you I’ll keep with me to remember through all of December my love with you May through September I love September it’s love ever after I'll always remember your laughter I'll always remember you. I agree with ice, bittersweet - and beautifully expressed Susan Happiness isn't something that happens to you, it's created from within you. Joy is a state of mind. |

The words flowed so well from your heart to your poetic pen, Thousands of thoughts came to my mind, I could hear Andy Williams(Whom I love) singing "Septembers Song" in the back ground. A beautiful, Romantic Love story, for a romantic time of the year! ~Love and Hugs ~ARH Come, love all of me, mind, body, spirit..feel my passion, taste of me, be filled completely! |

Thanks to all of you for the kind comments. I wrote this in September of last year, noting the gold and auburn color of the leaves on the big trees opposite of my apartment complex. This was actually influenced by the standard 'September Song', specifically Frank Sinatra's version on his reflective, melancholy September of My Years album. I wanted a crack at writing something sentimental and simple like the old standards of the his day and this was the result.
