Thou Art the World to Me

When the wings of butterflies stir the air,
They give birth to the breath that is my voice,
And words like butterflies are naught but fair,
‘Tis but a matter of making a choice.

Our choices speak truth as too whom we are,
And to our own selves we must remain true,
Wedded to the routine and the bizarre,
I’m the sum of the love I have for you.

So to the wind I bequeath my conscience,
In the hopes that my tidings reach thine ears,
They’re uttered with frankness, sans ill pretense,
May they convey the music of the spheres!

My love, my passion, seethe ever for thee,
For my darling thou art the world to me.

Remember, if you're not part of the future, you're history!

I think you've penned a beautiful poem here. I'm sure the recipient will be melting.

Thank-you SouthernWinds. I am glad you liked the poem. It wasn't written for any one person though. It was just words that had been tumbling together in my head for a week and I finally had to put them down so I could stop thinking about butterflies. (Wink!)

Remember, if you're not part of the future, you're history!

So very romantic- filled with heart- and prettily said as well.  Very nice.

The rythm and flow of this piece matches the content well.  You state it as it should always be.  I much enjoyed not only how well it read but the conviction shines as well and that takes notice also.
