Autumn is Tiptoeing In

I love it when
I need no cool
from A.C. or
the swimming pool.

Nor do I need
an ounce of heat
beyond the sun
that shines on me.

I need no chips
from buffalo
like in the past
when time was slow.

No ‘lectric power
nor gas to flow
it’s perfect here
I’ll have you know.

An extra blanket
dons the bed
in case the morn
is minus red.

A robe awaits
to snuggle me
no extra cost
to help me be

cozy as
a buginrug
I slip it on
and then we hug!

Whether on the shoal or on the shore,
I'll seek the lighthouse evermore.

So Alli, does that mean Ivan left you alone? Thanks for reading and commenting. Yes, out here in the northwest we get all four seasons.

Whether on the shoal or on the shore,
I'll seek the lighthouse evermore.

Oh yes, it is tiptoeing in, isn't it dear lady?
The balance point, autumn...
My favorite time of year.
Much applause,

Virginia,
When you live where it's cold (and that is a wonderful thing) it is important to know how to be as "snugasabuginarug". It's nice to know that I won't have to worry about you this winter! And what a fun write. I needed reminding of that which I forget to miss.

If tears could build a stairway and memories a lane, I'd walk right up to heaven and bring you home again.

Best part of autumn, winter, is cuddling under tons of blankets and leaving the bedroom window open...that fresh clean air is certainly invigorating!

Lovely visuals and write...thank you

Yes it is "tiptoeing in" If it doesn't it will get its shoes muddy...This has been a very rainy, early fall...

Come read to me some poem,
Some simple and heartfelt lay,
That shall soothe this restless feeling
And banish the thoughts of day.

Vas,
I've often questioned how snug a bug was in a rug. LOL Enjoyed the read.
