Minstrel
Inspired by Seymour Tabin

When evening meal came to an end
on little stool the barb descend
In dimming light the table cleared
while time for entertainment neared

All gathered round hearing stories
told throughout the territories
A silence filled the waiting air
as he prepared though unaware

Shallow drum resting on his thigh
while lively tune sure fingers apply
Melody rich and sweet he played
a romantic ballad portrayed

With mighty battles dearly won
was a tale of love just begun
The richness of his voice touched all
that kept his audience enthralled

Strong words that wove a vision clear
creating spellbound atmosphere
The hero won each fight of course
and took the damsel on his horse

He sang on as the night grew old
applause following each tale told
The finale song came to an end
from a Minstrel they’d recommend

That is a very cool write! And inspiration doesn't come sweeter than Sy.

There is something in the title of this...a shamen of sorts I think...
Your blending of mystical and magical captured from beginning to end the melody.
