When Time Cannot Be Time

Time isn't always time:
I can meet the schedule,
meet the client,
meet the deadline,
meet the quota,
meet their every expectation
while miss my own.

But there are times
when I can only miss;
miss our loving,
miss your kiss,
miss the presence I crave,
miss the very core of me.

Then time cannot be time,
but only a lake of sadness,
and every hour a tear.

I agree with Seymour... this transcends beautiful... it's magic. The repetitions remind me of the heartless tick of clock as time passes... and how that beat is different depending on whether you're scurrying around with not enough time to get things done... or waiting for someone who makes you whole.

And the ending... *sigh*... poetry just doesn't get better! *S*

There are times when a particular poem comes to mind... so in tune with my day that the words could have been mine. *S*

Today... when I have to find time for all the things that don't matter and only yearn for those that do... this poem fits me so well I had to find it to read again. *S*

Now... it's going in my library! *S*
