Into God’s Hands

Into God’s hands He commended His Spirit
Into God’s hands He laid all of his trust
A spiritual Son of the one Great Creator
A man born on earth is immortally thus

Into the heavens His soul had ascended
Unto the earth his pure image returned
Deep in the hearts of the ones who believed Him
The flames of redemption were silently burned

Onto the pathway He led His disciples
Into the forest He lays down His trail
Etching His foot on a carpet of nature
To cradle my step, so uncertain and frail

For here’s where I’ll witness the glory of Jesus
Among stately pillars of poplar and oak
Wrapping my heart in the bosom of greenery
Folding my essence in warmth of His cloak

For into God’s hands He commended His spirit
Into God’s hands He laid all of his trust
That my foot will tread firmly into His sweet forest
And lay down my soul at the hour of dusk

You've said it all here, Liz... God's poetry at its best for sure.  Thank you for your wondrous words...

And thank you also for your exquisite poetic response on our duet - You're a special lady, m'friend...

I never think that once one puts themselves in His hands,
that their steps are ever uncertain, again.

Good morning, Lady Santos!

Elizabeth,

First class poem. His hands are the only ones trustworthy enough for this kind of sacred care.

Penned as only you could pen it. Oh, how these blue pages lose so much of their grace when you are absent from them. You are dearly missed dear friend.
Love and Hugs,
