Liberty September 19th, 2001 Inspired by an attack on our nation the 11th day of September, 2001 ...And, in memory of those who have fallen in defense of liberty. Besieged by blood in darkened hours. Call to fall our treasured towers. Cast fire upon American innocence with your grasp on unrivaled insolence. Make haste to cover in desolate plains. Blood seethes in retribution's veins. Brutal fiends, authors of death brace in wait for dragon's breath. Liberty's sword to lash with might, raining justice in depth of night Never to be on bended knee. For just is the fight for liberty. Patriot brothers and sisters rise. Never fear the blood red skies. Fallen heroes of freedom's plight fuel patriot dreams and spur our fight. Lady Liberty, to the death we defend her. Know that America will never surrender. To the last of patriot souls we'll stand, steadfast devotion to beloved land. For tis' not your hounds of loathsome hell that may silence America's Liberty Bell. Only the end of mankind's plight will darken the beacon of Liberty's light. Copyright, Kevin V. Reese, 2001 |
