(Tomorrow we remember the tragic day America was heartbroken, where several thousand innocent Americans were lost in the World Trade Center bombings, dozens more lost on two other airliners, where from the homes of tens of millions of American families, from where our courageous, brave firefighters and police officers stood in response, to the candlelight vigils from Tiananmen Square, London, Paris, Sydney, South Africa, parts of the Middle East, all across the world, we were all joined together through the smoke and streams of tears we cried.

On this day, may we reflect on when the world all stood with us and learn the reminded lesson that we must all depend on each other, and we truly are one vast family, all brothers and sisters in spirit. I ask regardless of our political differences, religious beliefs, nationalities, or the difference of opinion we have in resolving the conflict after this tragic day, let us stand together and hug one another in spirit, and believe we will rise above as Americans, for there will always be spacious skies, for there will always be amber waves of grain, there will always be purple mountain majesties, there will always be alabaster cities gleaming, which I believe have only grown brighter with the several thousand angels made that day, guiding us all in spirit, having us believe as always "In God We Trust".

Together, we will always remember... )

...As the dust settles
.
.
.
...as the horizons are congested
.
.
.
...with freeways of silver wings
.
.
.
...all bound for the gates of heaven,
.
.
.
...I can still see fifty stars
.
.
.
...printed on the flag through my tears
.
.
.
...but when I see my mother crying
.
.
.
...listening to the news
.
.
.
...I know within the stars there's too many other stars...
.
.
.
.
.
.
...Because as the concrete clouds drift away
.
...as the smoke lifts from our eyes
.
...you can see the shortest distance between shoulders
.
...as fathers embrace their daughters tight.
.
...Waving goodbye...
.
.
.
.
.
.
...in fondest memory...
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
...How can I turn away,
.
.
.
...how can I cover my ears
.
.
.
...all these precious faces,
.
.
.
...with all their precious tears.
.
.
.
...I saw the phoenix rise in the west
.
.
.
...high above the tallest skyscrapers
.
.
.
...scattering dandelion seeds
.
.
.
...scattering answered prayers
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
...Because as the concrete clouds drift away
.
...as the smoke lifts from our eyes
.
...you can see the shortest distance between shoulders
.
...as fathers embrace their daughters tight.
.
...And this morning we'll kneel in the broken glass
.
...so together we can cry
.
...And tonight we'll flood our rooms with candlelight
.
...so these angels can see our tears shine
.
...Waving goodbye...

...in fondest memory...
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
...Through these windows of the world
.
.
.
...through the blood on the silver spoon
.
.
.
...I perceive an invisible incandescense
.
.
.
...from all four directions seeping through.
.
.
.
...Thunder on a sunny day,
.
.
.
...calmed over by an ocean breeze,
.
.
.
...and now I find myself, Oh Lord,
.
.
.
...bending down on my knees...
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
...Because as the concrete clouds drift away
.
...as the smoke lifts from our eyes
.
...you can see the shortest distance between shoulders

.
...And tonight we'll flood our rooms with candlelight
.
...so these angels can see our tears shine
.
...Waving goodbye...
.
.
.
.
.
Shine a little light in your room,
.
so they can see your tears shine
.
Shine a little light in your room,
.
WAVE GOODBYE...
.
.
.
Tonight, shine a little light
.
Let your tears shine
.
WAVE GOODBYE...
.
.
.
Tonight, we can cry
.
Tomorrow, we can rise, we can
.
WAVE GOODBYE...
.
.
.
.
.
Tonight we can cry...
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
and tomorrow...
.
.
.
.
...wave goodbye...
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
wave goodbye...
.
.
.
.
.

.
.
wave goodbye...

Amen.

In this, we are brothers.

Friend,Poet-sir
I appalud your ability to express your emotions, the light from this poem just must make a difference. Though it shines dimly, it lights a small corner of surrounding darkness....yet in the minds of some readers, illuming as does the sun...

Come read to me some poem,
Some simple and heartfelt lay,
That shall soothe this restless feeling
And banish the thoughts of day.
