the pen proved mightier
than that of sword
swift the cut of nevermore
in trickled stream these feelings bled
to taint and stain the marriage bed

t'was the joker who be wild?
peer deeper now, defenceless child
on glassy surfaced truth we see
once bared the forrest of the trees

pure and true of heart this lure
from chasity to love unsure
tumbled over hills and lost
in search of one at any cost

deep within the brown and gold
a flame no more in which to hold
a self once loved and cherished much
denied in want of lover's touch

illusioned feast of froth and foam
a house of cards, my crumpled home
the sweet more bitter therefore I eat
and come to know the taste defeat

the pen proved mightier than that
of sword
beware unsteady heart, be sure
the hand is quicker than the eye
and cannot stay the wave good bye

no matter how hard one might
try...

Thanks, Captain! But not to worry, things are fine.  Lost my muse for a bit and it seems to have taken off again after writing this poem.

Good to "see" you!

Enjoyed the rhyme. Like the joker inclusion too, makes me think of myself (smile)

More than nice...better than good

A different voice? Muse?

No matter, very well done!

Tiersden,

No critique from me, but I applaud you just the same.

I'm so glad you found your muse again Tier

It's great to read you.

This one makes me sad.  Too much truth in it.
