When you are not here
I sit, alone in thoughts
remembering yesterday

the way your smile
captures me,
sapphire of blue
pierces my soul

loneliness overwhelms me
         {but yet, I am not alone}

here, where hollowness surrounds
eyes closed, dreaming
I feel your breath upon me
hear your heart    beating...

Moments pass   s l i p p i n g
haunted by sounds      of silence
while bittersweet cold cascades
through these empty rooms
like snowflakes falling
in days of December
     {but, 'tis only September}

Changes of coming seasons,
colored reminders of life
turning in cycles

but I weep,
with this melancholy of ache,
knowing that   while you are gone
   time remains, standing still.........

It's better than I could have planned..
it's made me who I am...
