I don’t want to know
in words twenty or less
why nobody cares today
but why don’t you
when you’re next to me
at least pretend that you do.

I do want to know
why agendas must hide
in the lines of a humorous joke
and when you’re talking to me,
why you don’t hide your eyes.

I don’t want to know, but maybe I do,
why inanities buzz in my head
and why embellished recounting
sends me off bent at the knees
in search of a grain of truth
in the deep bowels of the earth.

I do want to know why your lips lie
when your face is proclaiming the truth
and why the very slightest of sigh
hits me like a hurricane.

I don’t want to know your deepest depth
I just want to know it exist
so when I scratch at a shallow façade
it’s like opening a birthday gift.

Mostly I want to know
why the world is evil and round
so I can’t get off and start again
knowing what I know now.

And lastly I want to know
why love is kept underground
but I never will ask because life’s a farce
and love is a happy prisoner
awaiting release by invitation
into the depths of a soul …
where we all fear to go!

Perhaps it was never about love in the first place.
Not in friendship nor a lover, or a soul mate that goes even deeper.
I don't know, but it certainly wasn't the kind of love I hoped to find.
So sadly for those of us who can relate to this.

Dear, dear Helen~
Be well.

Dear Bluesy,  Sadly everything is only and always about love - even war.  We just love different things and different people but it is important that we love.  Yes, well, let's just say that the angels told me so and in answer to the next question - yes, angels do exist.  For a start there's you and then there's me and then ... a host of others.     And - I wonder if you know that angels sometimes do and think strange things just, of course, like us. Thanks, Bluesy - I'm always well even when I'm not.

Dixie - thank you for reading. I suppose it's a good thing that we think as long as it's not restricting.
