Parts That Remain I had a thing for Nancy, Nancy had a thing for me. It was hard for me to leave her, easier for her to leave me. So painful for me to live without her, but without me she seemed to do fine. It took a while for me to get over her. No, it took a long, long time. Do you ever get over someone that you really care for, what happens to all the pain? You cry, years go by, some of the pain is lost but parts of the pain still remain. I used to call her fancy, handy was what she called me. A mutual friend said she moved to Indiana where she found a much nicer man than me. I hope that she's happy, it was not my intention to ruin her life. In finer days, I truly desired her, and I hoped she would be my wife. Do you ever get over someone that you really care for, what happens to all the pain? You cry, years go by, some of the pain is lost, but parts of the pain remain. JamesLee September02 2004 |

I believe James, if you love someone, they stay with you always, perhaps if one also self examines, not blaming, but trying to understand, why they chose that person...one would come to the realization, that even though you loved them and still do, perhaps you should have remained friends and not persued an intimate relationship, as there was not enough common ground to keep the romance going. But love them, always and forever...which will enhance you the rest of your days, and perhaps when that right one comes along, you will take greater care with their hearts and love...and be ready for a friendship/relationship. Lovely poem |

do you ever miss the pain after it fades? .... yeah, me too. anyone that has loved and lost can definitely relate to this, cause it still lingers in us. well done. it's not that the future is near or far... |

Dear James, when the heart is "vacant" we may think of those we have loved and feel still a certain regret for what has been, or for what maybe could have been. I agree that it is nice to continue to be in touch occasionaly because otherwise we wonder what happened to those we have once cared for in a very special way. Each bond we experience, creates a flow of energy which continues to exist even though its nature is transformed when the relationship ends, I think. Thank you for your loving reflections. Love, Margherita |

Some people say that time heels all wounds, but in some ways I do not believe that. I know your pain. The best thing to do is greave and move on, for there is nothing else to do. You may feel pain at what was done, but try to remember the good times you shared, and not the bad. Kristabell |

I don't know if you ever do get over it completely, but I think it changes. |

somehow in pain, we learn, what makes us who we are, just as in everyday life we are not perfect but strife for that never ending rainbow. |
