Long stretches of time, sprouts incarnated shoots
Trickling down dawn’s focus
And everything else
Where light spills forth a fragrance of water
Fresh, spacious...another day
Digging deep gargles, mouth wash overtures
While The Gaza Strips

Gleams of expectation, sways pitfalls of reform
Like a yellow autumn murmur, cranky behavior
A quality so intense, evading definition
Wavelengths from the well of souls
Narcissism wants so, to be loved

Glimpsing a missing time…ambrosial suckling
Like fast food on a barren desert
Placing a quarter in our parking meters
Moist sweet breath enters my window
Like picking up words embossed
Cuz the cats got your tongue
While running into his reflection

Shouting slogans our mother’s told us
Giving away our hearts
My community exposes its stretch marks
Running circles around a cloud of dirt
Like a list of names on marble stone
By the hands that mocked them?

Can equal master the rest of our lives?
Surviving the trade offs?
As opaque nights turn rich red
While education wakes up late
To graven images of currency
The monster is dead wrong
And much to pricy

We lock inside great flames
Hiding behind orange moons
What else do we have, to express?
Or think about?
Liberty maintains several heads
With chains between her legs
Overpaid to play, covet and cheat
Inflations poor again
While forms of competition
Commit adultery
Paying higher premiums
At whose cost?

Numbers waffle reflection
While the core of life wants a direction…
Living from pay check to pay check

Long stretches of time, sprouts incarnated shoots
Trickling down dawn’s focus
Where light spills forth a fragrance of water
Fresh, spacious, another day

Digging deep gurgles, planting aquatic overtures
I say, screw the calories, let’s publish viewpoints
Which has no linkage to privet lives!
What was done in my prime,
Tends to improve the campus
Get on with it for God’s sake
Deadwood comes cheap
While the polls go rabid, spitting up labor pools
I call it fluff in the markets do do
Potholed funds which Greenspan writes IOU’s

And thinkers hide passion
And artists write history
Over and over and over again…..
Things stay the same, while people invest prayer
Into a Black Friday martyr of nickels and dimes

A talented gloom and doom. Each line could make a separate poem. Have a happy day.

Lee,
another incredible write; you write with such color and conviction!  Another poem that just leaves me dazed... I had so many verses that I wanted to comment upon!

Can equal master the rest of our lives?
Surviving the trade offs?
As opaque nights turn rich red
While education wakes up late
To graven images of currency
The monster is dead wrong
And much to pricy

Excellent questions.  Much enjoyed.
