I did a lot of dreaming,
Of how it all would end.
How I would be a champion,
The money I would win.

My name would be a household word,
For folks who rodeo...
My future looked so rosey,
No way for me to know...

I met her in Fort Stockton,
Blonde hair and eyes of blue.
She told me that she loved me,
I said I loved her too.

I thought she was my woman,
She claimed I was her man.
We entered in the same shows,
Me, rough stock, her chasin' cans.

Then I drew a bronc in Fresno-
Chute-fightin', rank as sin.
I knew if I could ride him,
I couldn't help but win.

Off balance from the get-go,
He fell and then he rolled,
I heard the sound of breaking bones,
And then I was out cold.

So now my ridin's over-
How did the story end?
The sorry cayuse broke my back,
She left with my best friend.

This is a fine story!  Have you ever been interested in the annual cowboy poetry session in Winnemucca, NV in January?  It seems like your writing would do well there.
Good to read you.  KJ

Like an old fashioned country song - enjoyed this.
