Some of the Beast It has long been thought, by me at least that the brain retains some of the beast When e’r I stand too near an edge from deep within my brain I dredge conflicting thoughts of what to do about this feeling that seems not new There is an urge compelling me It says that I must jump or flee I do not know from where it comes but it insists like beating drums Perhaps in the distant primate past where in the trees our fates were cast we had the thrill and fear combined when hand and limb need stay aligned No longer swinging in the trees I now feel shaking in my knees to think that I might here jump off just for the thrill, to be aloft. If you don't vote your conscience, what part of your anatomy are you going to vote with? - Ralph Nadar - |

K: "just for the thrill, to be aloft?" Always wondered about that myself. Cool write... K |
