(With all the weather changes, I wonder if there are paralyzed little birds out there with no clue of which way to go...) Wooden fork held wait Of wren in mulberry tree Questioning the when'd When would loft of wind Cup softly its weathered hand lifting frightened bird |

thoughts I've oft pondered, isn't it miraculous how they know, and how bout those humming birds? They are amazing with their little biological clocks...are they not? Lovely write |

Gentle Spirit, I appreciate your kind words. Glad you enjoyed miscellanea Lee, They are pretty incredible creatures! If we humans only knew as much about fright or flight. (I don't know a whole lot about the hummingbird's biological clock--I'll have to do some surfing to find out more. Thanks for the initiative.) miscellanea |

Oh Misc'e, so, so true. Everything seems at least one month earlier than it should be. Normally the blackbirds start their "march" across lawns looking for the last of their grub fest before flying south. The bird wafts are filling the skies even earlier than they should. My squirrels are literally going "nuts"... and this poem brings it around so well, and so gently. I do hope you are feeling better! |

This is a precious write... can't say I watch the birds too often,(people around me always say "look at that bird.. and that one" and I say "ooh, look at that tree... did you see the tree?") but they really are amazing and beautiful little creatures. I hope you are feeling okay and that the worst of the pain has passed by now. It's never good being stuck in pain. Hang in there, and don't overwork yourself! Stay in bed and make everyone wait on you ![]() Always, Alyssa Poems are made by fools like me, |

Yes M. a very soft and delicate write. Just as are the birds that brace the winds and rains...sad that they must live their lives this way. |

Thanks, Everyone for your kindness. In all fairness, I should admit to being the little bird stuck in my mulberry tree! I used to run there and hide when I wanted privacy. The fork in the braches grew higher and higher in the tree over the years, heightening my perspective. The tree has since lost many of its branches, looking quite deformed. I miss it. Thanks for all your nice comments and wishes for quick recuperation. It's happening, just wish it were a little more painless. It will be soon... cathy [This message has been edited by miscellanea (08-29-2004 12:22 AM).] |
