After the dragons fly,
after their fire ballet across the sky,

what’s left?

Cold cinders.

Damp ash.

Two people.

and a memory of heat

I'd ask the same of lightning.. what's left after it is gone.. but the memory of the beauty of the flash...and the knowing there could be more...

Marge, thanks girl! It came to me last night while I was trying to sleep, and I wrote it down just like it came.

Cpat-yes! Lightning is just like that, isn't it?

Midnitesun-thank you, girl.  I saw it in my mind while I was trying to go to sleep last night, and I had to write it.

The first two lines make you feel like your kinda flying and the rest kinda drops you but more to give you a foundation to lift off from than steal the good light feeling,

A sad poem, Nan.  But, a reflective one.
