Redder leaves of poplar trees Meet overhead, greener then before There’s a kind of morphine measure Buttoned to the neck With French style lips Drunk and embittered Sharp like the point of a penknife A cold crust of squeeze Flogs from behind Knocking wrinkles around Slashing design But the twilight rose sings a hundred times To dull the ache and guide a light Where the glow under trees Grows to golden shivers of soft wind Telling things of patterns And pewter colored space Your room, your breathing laced Turning black images to maple red Projecting a flickering of recounted moments Bringing a floating wonder Like a creek waiting An understanding despite the coolness Disarming any shadows callous With harsh attire No man always walks up the road Drawing away from matters of spirit Sometimes years pass, sometimes moments But alas, one spring, one spring Gives a look, and in full darkness A hazy moon stands above the clouds To the north, sponging you Like the music of dawn’s flute And the notice, is free and easy Like the round mouth of a preacher With patterns wider then before Neither common, nor practical But Rick, my friend, entirely yours |

Gives a look, and in full darkness A hazy moon stands above the clouds ~*~ The hazy moon WAS out last night, but it was behind the clouds, and it was stunning. Thank you for this, Lee. |

My dear Lee, this is so touching and wonderful, you capture such imagery that all my focus becomes clear, you are a very wise woman with many gifts that I both admire and commend you on, your library of words never misses a beat. Thank you so much dear friend, so very much heart felt and appreciated. The journey of life is full of adventure to share. Be well and take care Lee till again. Sincerely Rick |
